Job description

HOURS: Minimum of 15 hours (flexible hours)

REPORTS TO: Art Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

As a graphic artist intern, you’ll be assisting the art department with creating and evaluating vector art for imprinting onto a variety of promotional items based on vendor and department specifications.

This internship is reviewed on a semester-by-semester basis to determine if 4imprint has the workload to continue the internship through the following semester.

Here’s what a typical day might look like. (These are the essential functions of the job). Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrate the eight core principles that guide every 4imprint teammate on a daily basis: Honesty, Curiosity, Collaboration, Flexibility, Accountability, Empathy, Positive Attitude, Humility.
  • Create electronic images suitable for the imprinting of promotional items, as per instructions provided by our customer service department.
  • Create artwork and assist with a variety of projects as needed for other departments.
  • Create clean vector images from faxes, bitmapped images provided to us by the customer in a number of different electronic files.
  • Typesetting and providing proofs for customers’ orders.
  • Create various line illustrations from photos & items.
  • Convert various file types into images usable in the creation of vector-based art.
  • Alter existing images/layouts so they are able to be imprinted on a variety of other items.
  • Assist in photography studio, as needed.

Required education/experience:

  • Actively pursuing a two-year or four-year degree in Graphic Arts.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Basic working knowledge of all production art related skills and terminology.
  • Knowledge of imprinting methods and experience in the promotional products industry a plus.
