Job Description
Responsible for producing accurate separations for flexographic/rotogravure printing applications through the utilization of Adobe and Esko-Artwork software. The Graphics Technician II is responsible for more complex work.
SCHEDULE
  • Monday- Friday 1st shift position

**This is a salaried position
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • To develop production art files per specifications and procedures using Adobe Illustrator
  • To develop basic proficiency and use of mechanical tools in Adobe Photoshop
  • Apply trapping to art per specifications and procedures using Esko software
  • To perform step and repeat and apply press marks per specifications and procedures
  • To perform final quality inspection of digital imaging files
  • To generate any job deliverables to include, but not limited to proofs and files
  • To assist in the maintenance and development of work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Facilitate teams to evaluate processes and drive process improvement initiatives
  • Assists in formal mentoring and training of the production staff

WHAT WE VALUE
  • Able to work over-time on planned or short-notice, to complete given projects, or to respond to surges, seasonal or otherwise, in business volume.
  • Must have a solid understanding of digital graphics, desktop publishing applications and how they apply to the different printing processes
  • Communication: Develops skills for efficient communication with internal customers, team members and leadership. Communicates in a timely manner.
  • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Esko Packedge, Plato, Bitmap Viewer and Esko Automation Engine

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
  • An Associates degree or its equivalency with an emphasis on graphic arts, or printing would satisfy the formal requirements for this position
  • 4 years experience preferred in related graphics pre-press
  • Attendance at technical seminars given by suppliers, colleges or graphics arts associations
  • Previous experience in applications or training
