For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, technical, and operational support to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions. This position is funded for a total of 720 hours.

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree with minimum additional experience of 2 year(s) in grants and/or contract management.

  • Grants Solutions experience
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, Adobe Acrobat
Duties:

The Grant Specialist position will support the SE Region by being the primary POC for grants, agreements, and contracts for RO funded or supported projects. The incumbent will be required to communicate with the project officer, JAO, contractors, and any other entity, as required by the type of agreement to ensure contract obligations are within timelines, guidance, and agreement specifications.

  • Grants Management Support ? assist with grant application tracking, award documentation, and records management; support grant lifecycle activities including pre-award, post award, closeout, and reporting processes; review grant documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance requirements; and coordinate with program managers, grants office, and recipients regarding grant activities.   85%
  • Budgetary and Financial Support - assist with pulling drawdown reports from FBMS and provide copy to project officer for review; track expenditures and obligations against approved funding amounts; and identify discrepancies and assist with corrective actions needed.   15%
