Outside Sales Representatives

Multiple Western Connecticut & Massachusetts Locations

Job Type: Full-time | Schedule: Monday–Friday, branch business hours | Pay: Competitive pay based on experience

The Granite Group is hiring Outside Sales Representatives for existing and future Western Massachusetts and Western Connecticut branches. This is a growth-focused sales opportunity for motivated professionals who enjoy being in the field, building relationships, developing new accounts, and helping contractors, plumbers, HVAC professionals, builders, and other trade customers find the right solutions. If you have experience in plumbing, HVAC, PVF, hydronics, wholesale distribution, or a related trade—and you are energized by growing business in your territory—this is a great opportunity to build your career with New England’s fastest-growing plumbing, hydronics, HVAC, and PVF wholesale distributor.

In these customer-facing outside sales roles, you will spend time in the market calling on customers, identifying new opportunities, strengthening existing relationships, and partnering with branch teams to deliver excellent service. You will be responsible for growing sales, increasing wallet share, prospecting new customers, supporting company initiatives, and representing The Granite Group as a trusted resource in your assigned territory.

About the Roles

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and grow an assigned outside sales territory through regular customer visits, follow-up, and relationship building.

  • Prospect for new contractors, plumbers, HVAC professionals, builders, and other trade customers to expand market share.

  • Develop strong account relationships by understanding customer needs, job schedules, buying habits, and growth opportunities.

  • Recommend plumbing, HVAC, PVF, hydronic, and related products that help customers complete jobs efficiently and profitably.

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying bids, projects, replacement opportunities, product conversions, and value-added solutions.

  • Partner with branch, counter, inside sales, purchasing, and vendor teams to provide responsive service and close business.

  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and follow-up information to support territory planning and sales activity.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to build relationships, earn trust, and grow business with trade customers.

  • Outside sales, account management, business development, or customer-facing sales experience preferred.

  • Experience in plumbing, HVAC, PVF, hydronics, wholesale distribution, construction supply, or a related field is required .

  • Strong prospecting, communication, follow-up, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to learn and communicate technical product information in a consultative, customer-focused way.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing time, territory activity, and competing priorities.

  • Team-oriented attitude and commitment to delivering excellent customer service through the branch network.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
