Position:  PIT II (Forklift Operator) 2nd Shift

Compensation:  Hourly Non-exempt 

Reports to:  Shipping Manager

Employment Type:  Full-time 

Qualifications:  Display positive attitude and teamwork skills.  Must complete a pre-employment physical and drug test.  Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day. Ability to frequently bend, lift and twist. Must be able and available to work overtime as required. 

Job Summary: Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following: Transporting loads using a forklift as assigned by manager/supervisor, verifies/matches labels and product content. 

Essential Functions:  

  • Drop material (CKN) FIFO for each line and have ready for export to each production line 

  • Sort material by Item and Kill Date to keep the current FIFO order 

  • RF scanning of loads being shipped and pallets into inventory; stored correctly 

  • Safety report any incidents immediately 

  • Place products in racks 100% safely and effectively and correct in SAP 

  • Ensure coolers/freezer are clear from any debris and damaged goods that may present an issue for the department 

  • Ensure each line is equipped with material, film, boxes, and pallets  

  • Ensure all requests by production line management is granted in a timely fashion 

  • Ensure dock is free of debris, empty pallets, trash containers emptied during shift 

  • Remove plastic from inbound loads and place on the dock until the labels are applied  

  • Performs inventory checks 

  • Write issues to be sent to production 

  • Stage product for production lines  

  • Place product in blast freeze or cooler 

  • Communicating with management when there are concerns with the following 

Production  Safety Employee relations 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client 

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities 

Education: High school diploma or equivalent  

Experience: One year work experience. 

Other Requirements: No other requirements. 

Working Conditions: High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment and dust may be present.  Employees will wear personal protective equipment as necessary or required.
