Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a skilled and dependable Chef to join our culinary team at Hillcrest Grand Lodge in Papillion, NE.
Hillcrest Grand Lodge is part of the beautiful Hillcrest Country Estates campus, a scenic 44-acre senior living community designed to support every stage of aging. The Grand Lodge offers resort-style senior living with independent living, assisted living, memory care, wellness amenities, social spaces, and multiple dining venues that create a warm, active, and hospitality-focused environment for residents.
At Hillcrest, our mission is simple: We enhance the lives of aging adults. We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing high-quality meals, supporting a clean and organized kitchen, and helping create a positive dining experience for residents, families, guests, and team members.
What You'll Do
As the Chef, you will prepare hot and cold food items for assigned stations while following recipes, portion standards, plating expectations, sanitation requirements, and food service timelines. This role plays an important part in creating an enjoyable dining experience across Hillcrest Grand Lodge's food venues and resident care areas.
You will help ensure meals are prepared accurately, presented professionally, served timely, and completed in a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
You will:
  • Prepare hot and cold food items according to recipes, standards, and customer expectations.
  • Plate all food according to proper presentation, portion, and plating standards.
  • Complete daily food production lists.
  • Set up hot and cold lines for meal service.
  • Prepare food for all food venues, including Bistro, Nottingham's, Keswick's, and Memory Support households.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following infection control and sanitation standards.
  • Put food deliveries away and help maintain proper storage practices.
  • Complete deep cleaning of kitchen equipment as assigned.
  • Ensure food is served timely and accurately for all venues.
  • Assist with deli tray deliveries.
  • Complete required training and sanitation courses.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with residents, guests, customers, and team members.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced culinary environment. The right candidate will understand the importance of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, safety, and service in a senior living community.
Ideal candidates will have:
  • At least two years of hotel or restaurant line cooking experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing hot and cold food items in a high-volume or service-focused kitchen preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes, production lists, and plating standards.
  • Commitment to sanitation, infection control, and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately while maintaining quality.
  • A positive, team-focused attitude.
  • Flexibility and professionalism when working with residents, families, guests, and team members.
  • Comfort using technology and resources efficiently and effectively.

Education & Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
