CHS, Inc is looking for a driven individual to join our Feed Mill team in Hermiston, OR as a Union Operations Specialist. You will perform diver mill operations such as feed making, recieving, mixing and pelleting our feed products & any additional general operator tasks needed. This position offers 1st Shift hours 5:00am-1:30pm Monday - Friday, onsite training, competitive pay & benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of the largest cooperative in the U.S. Our feed mill is a key component in the formulation of the highest quality ingredients and all the essentials to improve health, performance and production. Compensation Data
  • Salary Range: $25.38 - $26.38 per hr
  • This is a union role. Full rate of pay after successful completion of probationary period & shift differential. Wages are based on the collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities
  • Operate the all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to CHS' quality assurance program regarding ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging.
  • Perform necessary sequencing, recording, and documenting of all feed manufactured during shift.
  • Maintain accurate production and FDA records, entering data into Excel spreadsheet.
  • Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently and in a manner that assures accuracy and high quality.
  • Assist management with production scheduling, inventory planning & control for both ingredients and finished products.
  • Determine proper routing and distribution for manufactured feeds to appropriate holding bins.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist customers when needed.
  • Observe and enforce all company policies & procedures, adhere to all safety & FDA requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with managers, co-workers, and customers.
  • Perform general work around the facility and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • 1+ years in Production and/or Operations
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience in mill operations, manufacturing, or similar
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and load up to 75 lbs
  • Comfortable in damp, dusty, dry conditions
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to perform physically driven tasks

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
