Job Schedule: 9/80- employees work 9 out of 14 days, totaling 80 hours worked- and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Level 3 Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. Essential Functions:

  • Generate and manage system and subsystem-level requirements specifications using requirements management tools such as DOORS, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the lifecycle
  • Conduct comprehensive requirement traceability analysis to ensure all stakeholder needs are fully addressed and covered by the system requirements.
  • Document the development of system capabilities and ensure comprehensive architectural representation aligned with requirements
  • Create and maintain verification matrices; actively support system verification and validation activities including test planning and execution
  • Lead and manage technical teams in a collaborative environment to successfully meet project objectives
  • Define and manage interfaces between system elements, using Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and other means to ensure compatibility and interoperability.
  • Leverage interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills to foster cross-functional teamwork and resolve technical challenges effectively
  • Lead efforts to innovate and improve existing system designs. Resolve complex technical issues that arise during the design, development, or deployment phases.
  • Perform detailed trade studies and system analysis to evaluate design options, balance requirements, and make informed decisions.
  • Engage with customers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline) and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience contributing to and/or leading design reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
  • RF and SATCOM Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in network engineering, including the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex network architectures 
  • Proven experience in systems engineering principles and practices
  • Use modeling tools and methods (e.g., SysML, UML) to create clear and detailed system architecture diagrams.
  • Risk Management Experience
