Job description

QTEC Aerospace is seeking multiple SYSTEMS ENGINEERS to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicants will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Will work with senior engineers to perform requirements engineering, use case development, logical architecture modeling, and interface definition

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 1 year of related work experience; or a PhD in a related discipline

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to work on-site in an office environment
  • Experience in any aspect of the Systems Engineering V-Model, with skills in areas such as requirements engineering (solicitation and decomposition), use case development, logical architecture modeling, interface definition, system testing or requirements verification
  • Must be able to function as part of an experienced team to develop systems engineering products while adhering to program standards and processes
  • Must have the ability to ask questions to gain a better understanding, work cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines, research topics using multiple references and points of contact, work independently, and meet deadlines

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A degree in Systems Engineering is a significant plus
  • Certificate: Completion of Systems Engineering Graduate Certificate Program (Ex, UCSD, Stevens University, MIT, Caltech)
  • Certification: INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) Certification
  • Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model User (OCSMP - MU)
  • Desirable skills in DOORS, JIRA, Cameo, and presentation of technical material
  • Desirable understanding and familiarity with concepts regarding Missile Defense Systems (MDS) sensors, firing systems and interfaces
  • Experience performing systems engineering for DoD Information Systems and/or MDS is desirable

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
