Position Summary: The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Admissions playsa vital role in supporting the daily operations and outreach efforts of theOffice of Admissions. This position offers graduate students the opportunity todevelop professional skills in higher education administration, studentengagement, and event coordination while actively contributing to therecruitment and enrollment processes at Benedictine University.
Essential JobResponsibilities:
1. TheGraduate Assistant will assist with welcoming, greeting, and supportingprospective students and their families during campus visits. This includesleading campus tours and engaging visitors in meaningful conversations to sharethe Benedictine University experience. Additionally, the individual will helpmonitor designated email accounts and phone lines, ensuring inquiries areappropriately routed to the relevant enrollment personnel for follow-up.
2. Thisposition will also involve regular use of technology systems such as PeopleSoftand Salesforce. The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for accurate andtimely data entry to support enrollment operations, maintaining an organizedand up-to-date admissions funnel that helps staff make informed recruitmentdecisions.
3. The roleincludes opportunities for off-campus engagement, where the Graduate Assistantwill support travel to high schools, community colleges, fairs, and communitypartner events. During these visits, the GA will represent BenedictineUniversity, share information with prospective students, and actively captureinquiries to help expand the University's reach.
4. The GraduateAssistant will support the Director of Admissions in preparing for andexecuting on-campus events. This involves collaborating with internaldepartments and external stakeholders to ensure all logistical and operationalneeds are met, contributing to a seamless and professional event experience forall attendees.
OtherFunctions:
1. Maintain agreed-upon office hours and communicate schedule changes appropriately
2. Contribute and actively participate in department meetings, information sessions and events.
3. Develop relationships within Benedictine University and the University community
4. Maintain a positive relationship with parents, students, staff members
5. Positively promote Benedictine University and its enrollment opportunities on campus and in the community.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required. Must be enrolled as a Benedictine student in good standing.
Experience: Experience as astudent worker in their bachelor's degree program preferred, within enrollmentdivision desired.
Qualifications: Applicant must obtain acceptance into a Benedictine Graduate program of Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Science in Management & Organizational Behavior or Master of Public Health. Applicant must beaccepted into the Benedictine University graduate program and remain in goodstanding with the University.
Specific Skills: Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated supervisory skills.
Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Yes. Valid Driver's License,computer skills required for Word processing, spreadsheets, email,experience with CRM systems (Salesforce and PeopleSoft experience a plus); Mustbe personable, outgoing, and professional in demeanor. Candidate must be goaloriented and comfortable with measurable outcomes and metric driven position.
Physical Requirements: May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Must reach, bend, stoop, lift. Must sit, walk or stand for long periods of time. Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather.
Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.

Working Conditions: Office environment; nights and weekends required. Occasional remotework, and some travel.
Training: Must complete all trainingsrequired by Benedictine University.
