Job description

The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering is seeking a Part-Time Graduate Student Recruitment Specialist. This position is responsible for identifying, engaging, and enrolling working professionals into graduate degree programs and continuing education opportunities. The role focuses on recruiting individuals currently in the workforce who are seeking to advance their skills, earn an online degree, or meet professional certification goals.
Department Specific Responsiblities
  • Reports to the Graduate Director of Recruitment and Admissions.
  • Strategically designs, plans, and executes recruitment events targeted toward working professionals and prospective online graduate students.
  • Supports broader graduate recruitment efforts through participation in local and regional recruitment activities, including career fairs, graduate school fairs, information sessions, online learning events, conference exhibits, employer-sponsored events, and other outreach opportunities.
  • Hosts and facilitates outreach events such as lunch-and-learns and other engagement opportunities with workforce and employer partners.
  • Identifies, prospects, and cultivates relationships with working professionals who may be interested in graduate degree programs or continuing education opportunities.
  • Builds and maintains partnerships with employers, industry organizations, and professional associations to promote academic programs and create educational pathway opportunities.
  • Stays informed about workforce trends, industry needs, and competitor offerings to identify emerging recruitment and program opportunities.
  • Assists with enrollment outreach and follow-up communications with prospective students.
  • Coordinates and/or attend professional and student-focused events where prospective students may be present, including meetings, conferences, symposiums, networking events, and industry gatherings.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Recruitment and Admissions to develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies for targeted populations, including current students, alumni, working professionals, and corporate partners.
  • Partners with Luddy staff and faculty to organize online information sessions, recruitment events, and early advising opportunities for prospective students.
  • Coordinates the involvement of current students and alumni in recruitment and outreach activities.
  • Assists with utilizing CRM and Slate systems to manage prospective student communications, create email journeys, track interactions, and collect recruitment data.
  • Assists with reporting and analyzing recruitment metrics, including event attendance, inquiry generation, application activity, and conversion rates.
  • Provides timely and personalized follow-up to prospective students through phone, text, email, and virtual meetings.
  • Advises prospective students regarding admissions requirements, application processes, program options, and enrollment pathways.
  • Reviews applications for completeness and ensure all admission requirements have been satisfied.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service while representing the Luddy School and promoting its graduate and continuing education programs.
  • Responds to and resolve questions from prospective students, faculty, staff, and campus partners regarding admissions policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements.
  • Presents continuing education and graduate program opportunities to local employers, workforce partners, and professional organizations.
  • Maintains the confidentiality and integrity of all student records, admissions documents, and institutional information.
  • Responds promptly to phone and email inquiries regarding admissions processes, application status, and enrollment-related questions.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (HSED or GED).
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
  • 2 years of office, recruitment, admissions, customer service, or related experience.
Preferred
  • Experience working in a higher education or university setting.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism when interacting with prospective students, employer partners, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
