Job description


This position provides the coordination of the construction phase activities and construction costs for any miscellaneous work requests, minor and major construction projects throughout Mayo Clinic. This position monitors the performance of contractors and subcontractors who are constructing, renovating, remodeling, providing maintenance or demolishing Mayo Foundations buildings and the renovation of leased properties. Incumbent is responsible for several projects at any given time with various levels of complexity at one or more locations. The incumbent functions independently by applying acquired technical skills to perform the full range of construction management activities for each project. This includes any estimating, bidding, scheduling, constructing, maintenance or remodeling, life safety inspections, infection control monitoring, and scheduling of the Mayo internal work groups dealing with the relocation and move-in activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or Engineering or a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture Preferred. High level of decision making, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills are required. Five or more years of combined in-field and office experience (estimating, scheduling, quality control, and construction management). Ability to vary management style to match situational needs. Experience with on-site field construction conditions, in-depth knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and productivity. Willing to work toward a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Business Administration.
