Job description

The Assistant or Senior Assistant, Graduate Admissions will be an integral part of the admissions team charged with supporting the recruiting and admissions efforts across the suite of graduate programs. Specific responsibilities include playing a key role in the growth of graduate student enrollment, managing the conversion process from inquiry to enrolled students that includes multi-medium outreach; staffing recruiting events (on and off campus); taking an active role in the interview and application review process; and representing the College externally to multiple constituents.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Responsible for implementing the conversion process for the graduate programs including proactive outreach to inquiries, applicants, and admitted candidates via web, telephone, mail, e-mail, social media, and in person.
  • Interviews and counsels prospective students and evaluates their candidacy for Babson's graduate programs.
  • Meets targeted enrollment goals through the establishment of effective sales strategies and relationship management.
  • Promotes Babson's Graduate programs through direct sales, professional presentations, and the execution of well-coordinated recruitment travel (both domestic and international) as well as onsite (across all Babson locations) and virtual events.
  • In collaboration with the recruitment team, manages the prospect funnel (from inquiry through enrollment) for a select pipeline.
  • Reviews admission applications to the College; presents recommendations to the admission committee; and has ownership in decision-making processes (this includes some evening and weekend work).
  • Works in collaboration with the Admissions team and the Events Manager to plan and execute all recruiting events, both on campus and off. Recruitment events may include: regularly scheduled programs for prospective candidates on and off campus, monthly information sessions, visitor programs, yield receptions, and programs for admitted students. Responsibilities also include outreach and participation in all graduate program recruiting activities.
  • Provides input as necessary in the development of Graduate Admissions marketing materials.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains email communications strategy in partnership with Marketing to move collaborative pathway prospective students down the funnel.
  • Provides tracking, reporting, and continuous feedback to key internal stakeholders to aid in enrollment scenario planning for upcoming years.
  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining a productive, collaborative, and continuous feedback loop with colleagues within the Graduate School and College. Areas important to our business include the Dean's Office, Program Management, Career Services, International Programs, College Marketing, and Student Financial Services.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in college admissions, marketing, recruiting, staffing, or sales
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a strong focus on customer service
Must have a "make-it-happen" mindset that leverages creative solutions to recruit strong candidates
Must be detail-oriented and can handle multiple projects with frequent deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to report and manipulate data to identify shifts and trends in the marketplace as well as the ability to redirect efforts on behalf of the graduate programs to ensure enrollment goals are attained
Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse students, staff, and faculty
Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office. Successful candidates should know Office basics like how to Mail Merge, Sort/Filter within Excel, manipulate data within excel, and grasp changing technology quickly
Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support Entrepreneurial Thought & Action; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results
Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions
HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK
Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver's License for one year, and maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College's insurer's criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College's vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee's driving record based on the College insurer's criteria; and safety training as required by management.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends
Required to travel domestically and internationally
Requires work onsite a minimum of 3 days a week (requires 5 days a week for the first 3 months for training purposes); the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE
  • Master's degree in business administration or education, or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with web-based and electronic marketing, customer relationship management (CRM), and data management and mining preferred

Minimum of 4-6 years of experience to be considered for the Assistant Director level; and 5+ years of experience to be considered for the Senior Assistant Director level.
Pay: Salary range for 4-6 years, Assistant Director level is $67,211-$74,679 depending on experience; 5+ years, Senior Assistant Director level is $70,571-$78,412 depending on experience.
Babson College offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees working at least 28 hours per week.
