Description
The Graduate Assistant (G.A) for Flag Football will support the Head Coach in all aspects of daily operations, including coaching, recruiting, player development, administrative duties, and program organization. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in collegiate athletics while pursuing a graduate degree.
Primary Responsibilities
Coaching & Player Development
  • Assist in planning and executing practices and game preparation
  • Teach fundamentals, techniques, and position-specific skills
  • Support film breakdown, scouting reports, and opponent analysis
  • Provide feedback and development plans for student-athletes
  • Assist with strength & conditioning coordination (as needed)

Recruiting
  • Identify and evaluate prospective student-athletes
  • Maintain recruiting database (Class tracking, evaluations, communication logs)
  • Communicate with recruits via email, phone, and social media
  • Assist in organizing campus visits and recruiting events
  • Ensure recruiting efforts align with university and NAIA guidelines

Operations & Administration
  • Assist with practice setup and breakdown
  • Coordinate equipment, uniforms, and gear organization
  • Track player participation (practice, study hall, community service, fundraising)
  • Help manage team travel logistics (hotels, meals, itineraries)
  • Maintain organization of Hudl, playbooks, and team materials

Game Day Responsibilities
  • Assist with sideline organization and communication
  • Support substitutions, personnel groupings, and game adjustments
  • Help with film capture and in-game data tracking
  • Ensure all equipment and logistics are handled efficiently

Player Support & Culture
  • Monitor academic progress and study hall completion
  • Promote team standards, including discipline, accountability, and leadership
  • Assist in enforcing team policies (curfew, conduct, expectations)
  • Support team bonding, community service, and fundraising initiatives

Creative & Program Growth (Optional but Preferred)
  • Assist with team social media (Instagram, TikTok, recruiting graphics)
  • Help create content for recruiting and branding
  • Contribute to building a strong, competitive program culture

Work Expectations
  • Attend all practices, games, meetings, and team events
  • Represent Point University and the Flag Football program with professionalism
  • Be adaptable and willing to take on additional responsibilities as assigned

Reporting Structure
  • Reports directly to the Head Flag Football Coach

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Acceptance into a graduate program at Point University
  • Strong knowledge of football/flag football concepts
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
  • High energy, attention to detail, and a competitive mindset

Preferred Qualifications
  • Playing or coaching experience in football or flag football
  • Experience with Hudl or video breakdown tools
  • Background in recruiting or player evaluation
  • Graphic design or social media experience (a plus)
