Graduate Assistant Pool

POSITION

The Department of Marketing at CSU Fullerton invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Pool. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing assistance to faculty in searching for, collecting and summarizing research data and publications;
  • Aiding faculty with evaluating student work and examinations, and other duties as assigned;
  • Assisting in the department office by providing guidance and information to students in the concentration and minor;
  • Support faculty in completing their service assignments.

This is a pool of Graduate Assistants for the department to draw on as necessary.

ASSIGNMENTS ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED COURSE ASSIGNMENTS ON VERY SHORT NOTICE. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must be a currently enrolled graduate student.
  • Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students
  • Candidates must be a currently enrolled graduate student
  • Excellent computer skills including Office, Excel and PowerPoint and other spreadsheet experience.
  • Familiarity with library databases
  • Type 40 CWAM and have a working knowledge of library and internet research.
  • Must have an excellent command of English - both oral and written
  • Be able to follow directions, show initiative, be reliable and have the ability to assist with large classes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate students in the College of Business

COMPENSATION

All Graduate Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.   
Classification Range: $3,245 to $4,380 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $3,800
The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
