Job Description:

As a Solution Engineer you will design, implement, and optimize enterprise infrastructure and new platform solutions. This role spans Linux, Windows Server, Nutanix, VMware, NetApp, and Cohesity, and combines hands-on engineering with service governance responsibilities. The Solution Engineer will lead technical solution delivery, work with application owners to implement and document their upgrades and installations, provide MSP guidance, and drive measurable service performance through SLA/KPI management and infrastructure portfolio planning.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and implement new platform solutions aligned to business, security, and operational requirements.
  • Engineer, integrate, and support environments across Linux, Windows Server, Nutanix, VMware, NetApp, and Cohesity.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technical implementation planning, and transition to operations activities.
  • Work directly with application owners to implement and document upgrades and installations, plan implementation sequencing, validate technical dependencies, and ensure successful onboarding to new and existing platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance to MSP teams for service execution, escalations, and continuous improvement.
  • Define, govern, and report SLA and KPI performance across managed infrastructure services.
  • Drive corrective action plans and service improvement initiatives when SLA/KPI targets are at risk or missed.
  • Lead infrastructure portfolio planning, including lifecycle, capacity, risk, prioritization, and roadmap development.
  • Produce and maintain architecture standards, implementation documentation, and operational runbooks.
  • Troubleshoot cross platform issues and lead root cause resolution with internal and MSP partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior experience In lieu of degree, minimum 13 years of prior experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise platform solutions.
  • Strong hands on administration experience with Linux and Windows Server.
  • Strong experience with Nutanix and VMware virtualization platforms.
  • Strong experience with NetApp storage technologies and data services.
  • Practical enterprise experience with Cohesity administration and integration.
  • Demonstrated experience managing MSP delivered services and vendor performance.
  • Proven ownership of SLA/KPI framework development, reporting, and operational governance.
  • Experience with infrastructure portfolio planning and roadmap execution.
  • Scripting/automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non technical teams.Experience with hybrid cloud and multisite enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with cyber resilience, backup/recovery governance, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Experience with ITSM practices and tools for incident, change, and problem management.
  • Relevant certifications in VMware, Nutanix, NetApp, Microsoft, Linux, or Cohesity.
  • Experience in regulated, high availability, or mission critical environments.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $122,000-$227,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $106,000-$197,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
