Job Description:
The Supply Chain Site Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day Supply Chain Logistics operations, planning and operational improvement in line with department budget and Essentia Health's strategic goals. The role manages the oversight of Supply Chain Logistics operations for assigned site(s) with a primary focus on the completion of tasks and assisting staff with complex problems. This role assists the supply chain leadership team in the completion and tracking of departmental goals, objectives, and metrics. The site supervisor will hire, coach, and manage Supply Chain Logistics team members utilizing established policies and procedures. The site supervisor is responsible for the planning of department schedules and ensuring a seamlessly staffed operation. The Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and guidance on supply chain matters to hospital personnel, vendors, and others as needed. The supervisor will serve as champion of customer service and communication both internally and externally. The supervisor will be expected to possess or seek to obtain a high-level understanding of healthcare supply logistics, basic hospital department functions, receiving, distribution, inventory management, counting, inventorying, inbound and outbound shipping, package tracking, courier management, STAT logistical needs and many other basic healthcare supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily supply chain operations for assigned site(s), responsible for monitoring daily workflows and ensuring team is meeting key department metrics and objectives
  • Provide direct supervision to staff, including hiring, coaching, training, performance management, and discipline. The site supervisor will manage staff assignments, scheduling, and timecards
  • Support problem-solving and escalations, assisting staff and department leaders with complex operational issues and ensuring continuity of service
  • Drive operational improvement, contributing to planning efforts and identifying opportunities to enhance workflow, efficiency, and service quality
  • Assist supply chain leadership in strategic planning, including setting departmental goals and objectives
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, maintaining quality, accuracy, resiliency, and safety in all supply chain functions
  • Serve as a key liaison and resource, providing guidance on supply chain matters to internal departments, clinicians, vendors, and community relations. Acting as a key resource for clear communication and customer service

Education Requirement:
  • Associate's degree or 2 years of relevant experience

Required Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience, preferably in supply chain, logistics, or materials management, or in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, including coaching, training, and performance management strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex operational issues
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and standard Microsoft Office software, with effective communication and people skills
