ChristianaCare's School Based Health Centers is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Full-Time Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills to support the Delcastle High School.
ChristianaCare's School-Based Health Centers are embedded in high schools and elementary schools across the Newcastle and Kent Counties. The School-Based Health Centers were established especially for students to help make the best quality health care available in our community more accessible to them. The School Based Health Centers provide comprehensive medical and mental health care, treatment and health education to promote a healthy lifestyle. Each health center is operated by a partnership that includes ChristianaCare, school districts, and the Delaware Division of Public Health, Department of Health and Social Services.

Duties / Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical and administrative tasks, such as assisting with exams, and maintaining exam rooms and equipment. They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
Position Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
