The Graduate Assistant Coach for Athletics supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the athletic program, operating within the philosophy and guidelines established by Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, the NAIA, River States Conference or Mid-States Football Association. This position reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the program, including duties as assigned.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in achieving annual recruiting targets and roster size goals. 
  • Support the monitoring of student-athletes' academic progress and success. 
  • Assist with oversight and management of the athletic program budget. 
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and the Department of Athletics. 
  • Support the development and monitoring of student-athlete conduct and accountability. 
  • Assist in planning and implementing team practices and individual development programs. 
  • Contribute to a program that aligns with and supports the mission of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. 
  • Travel as required for recruiting and daily operations of the athletic program. 
  • Assist the Head Coach with marketing, promotions, and program visibility efforts. 
  • Support fundraising initiatives and camp operations associated with the athletic program. 
  • Engage in campus and community activities to promote the program and institution. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach. 

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a small college environment, balancing athletic performance with a strong student development focus. 

Supervision:

  • Will supervise student athletes.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University.
  • Enrolled in an SMWC Graduate Program. 
  • Valid Driver's License/State ID preferred.
  • Previous demonstrated playing/coaching experience in the sport of the position applying for. 

Requirements Include:

1. Submit a completed application and resume. 

2. Complete the admissions process for a Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College graduate program. Graduate Degrees 

3. Be accepted and admitted into the graduate program.
