Do you thrive on using in-depth research to craft thoughtful, market-informed solutions while acting as a strategic partner to financial professionals? As an associate portfolio manager at Gradient, you don’t just follow the markets, you bring a clear point of view. Here, you’ll put that perspective into action by generating investment ideas, directing portfolio trading, and serving as a trusted resource for the financial advisors who rely on us every day.

  • Partner closely with Portfolio Managers to implement strategies, including securities research, selection, portfolio construction, and execution of trades; assist with daily portfolio oversight and asset consolidation as needed
  • Appear on national financial news networks (CNBC, Bloomberg, Schwab Network, etc.)
  • Analyze and communicate market dynamics, trends, and key developments to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with analysts and research partners to evaluate market conditions and identify emerging opportunities
  • Conduct in-depth research on investment products, companies, and markets; develop clear, insightful content to inform advisors, investors, and leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and partnering advisors
  • Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance relative to strategic objectives, benchmarks, and regulatory requirements
What you Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Required
  • Master’s Degree – Preferred
  • CFA designation preferred, or a demonstrated willingness to pursue and obtain
  • 4+ Years of Investment Management Experience – Required
  • Proficient knowledge of security/asset selection and investment allocation
  • Proficient knowledge of a variety of investments including stocks, bonds, ETFs and alternative assets
Our Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits
  • 4 weeks of accrued PTO, plus 9 paid holidays
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k)
  • 8 hours of paid volunteer time off (VTO)
  • Ability to work in-office four days per week with one remote workday
  • Ongoing professional development and training
  • A collaborative team that values expertise, initiative, and growth
Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Work inside a vertically integrated financial services organization with twelve specialized entities where your investment decisions have real reach
  • A collaborative culture that holds high expectations and backs them with genuine support and growth opportunities
  • Direct impact: your ideas shape the portfolios that advisors bring to their clients every day
