This role is located in Chicago, IL or Washington, DC

Job Description

BKV Group seeks a Senior Project Architect with 8-12+ years’ related experience to join our growing Government team. Ideally, we are looking for a well-rounded, licensed architect who has extensive experience in all aspects of the design and documentation for civic Government projects (e.g. Fire/EMS, Justice, Law Enforcement, Courthouses, City Halls, County Offices, etc.).

Project related responsibilities include the following:

  • Work closely with the Development Managing Partner, Practice Leader and Project Manager to lead the design and technical documentation for projects.
  • Implement code review requirements and respective documents to obtain review and approval of the plans for code compliance.
  • Plan the layout of projects and coordinate and integrate engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
  • Prepare scale drawings and contract documents utilizing Revit for deliverable packages to Contractors, Clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Prepare project production design and drawings.
  • Construction document detailing and coordination of technical systems/envelope assemblies.
  • Implement technical reviews as part of production process.
  • Coordinate design and production drawings and specification documents.
Qualifications
  • Must have four years’ college or university degree. Masters degree preferred.
  • Professional license required.
  • 8-12+ years’ related experience as a licensed professional required.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
  • Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation range: $110,000 – $125,000 annually, or commensurate with experience.
