Job Title: Quality Receiving Inspector

Job Functions: The Quality Receiving Inspector provides support to the Final/Receiving Inspection Team and performs routine to advanced clerical, filing, and inspection duties. This person will support the Quality Department receiving inspection area to review physical parts and certifications from parts processed or machined offsite by approved suppliers or vendors. Raw material received will also be reviewed for conformance as applicable. The Quality Receiving Inspector will utilize knowledge of customer specifications and part engineering data to review received parts and inspect for conformance to applicable specification requirements. Additional inspection requirements such as documenting nonconformances may be added to assist other department areas when necessary. Common duties include and are not limited to:
? Inspecting complex processed and manufactured parts for conformance to customer purchase order requirements, engineering prints, and customer specification requirements
? Performing visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections per part engineering requirements
? Utilizes basic to complex inspection measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, thickness gauges, bore gauges, gaussmeters for compliance to engineering requirements
? Performing all inspection requirements specified on the planning/traveler to allow the product to proceed through the production process in an effective and timely manner
? Completing all necessary customer documentation for inspection activities
? Reviewing and recommending changes to written procedures, as required, to keep them in line with business operations and customer requirements
? Performing necessary testing on products to ensure compliance with customer requirements
? Working from engineering drawings, internal and external specifications, quality assurance standards, test procedures, and verbal instructions to determine acceptance of product
? Participating in continuous improvement activities within the Quality Department
? Utilizes computers, especially Microsoft Office programs to document quality records, first article and dimensional reports, and job status, including the scanning and filing of records
? Maintains the highest ethical standards, even when challenged Skills & Qualifications
? Basic knowledge of aerostructure processing requirements (penetrant, shot peen, anodize, primer, paint)
? Basic knowledge of machine shop environment
? General knowledge of general AS9100 quality standards
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

? Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards and concepts

? Ability to communicate with all levels within production and get messages across that has the desired effect

Education/ Experience Required: High School or equivalent educational attainment required Previous experience in dealing with receiving inspection and source inspection of process and painted detail and assembly parts is required Minimum of 2+ years with successful employment as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing experience preferred Demonstrated experience with group projects or work-related tasks supporting a collective team effort Experience with utilizing measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gages) will be verified during interview process for all candidates via demonstration exam
