Job description

Overview

As a Steampunk Scrum Master, you'll be asked to serve as the Scrum Master on an Agile software development team.

Contributions

Responsibilities include: 

  • Serve as Scrum Master for Agile teams supporting high-priority client initiatives, ensuring effective delivery of technical IT projects
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) and promote adherence to Agile principles and best practices
  • Guide teams in understanding and applying Agile methodologies, fostering an Agile mindset and alignment with client values
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners to support project planning, define scope, and maintain delivery schedules focused on incremental value
  • Monitor project progress and prepare/distribute status reports, ensuring transparency into team performance and delivery outcomes
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues; escalate and resolve impediments impacting team performance
  • Remove roadblocks and distractions to enable teams to remain focused, productive, and effective
  • Support team development by mentoring members, fostering accountability, and promoting continuous improvement
  • Manage stakeholder communications and support alignment of customer expectations with project deliverables
  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of effective project governance practices
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to drive shared understanding, stakeholder alignment, and development of product and portfolio roadmaps
  • Optimize team capacity and performance by leveraging organizational resources and improving delivery processes
Qualifications
  • Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government
  • 4+ years of experience with Scrum/Kanban Methodologies
  • 4+ years of experience serving as the Product Owner or Scrum Master
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
  • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions
  • Flexibility to work with teams, individuals and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a studio / human centered design approach
  • Scrum Master certification preferred
