Job description

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental (SSE) is seeking a Honolulu, HI-based Project Manager to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District. This position is intended for hires residing in the Honolulu area as working on-site is required. Note: two Project Managers will be hired for this position.
Project Managers will assist USACE Programs & Project Management Division (PPMD) in the planning and project development for each design and construction program. Project Managers will also provide administrative and support duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist USACE PPMD in the planning and project development for each Program
  • Coordinates projects and Project Development Team (PDT) with the PPMD
  • Prepares and maintains project management plans
  • Tracks project/program costs
  • Documents project/program decisions and activities
  • Compiles and maintains documentation for project site approval by the Government
  • Facilities communication among various stakeholders
  • Provides administrative and support duties

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen - required.
  • Exceptional understanding of design and construction practices, codes, and techniques
  • Ability to read and understand engineering and architectural drawings and specifications
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute complex design and construction projects
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, or other Federal construction organizations.
  • Knowledge of Project Delivery Team (PDT) processes, MILCON, Federal project management, and Government project documentation.

Education and Experience:
  • Required-Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, engineering, architecture, or a related field or four (4) years' experience of direct, relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of three (3) full years of experience in the construction industry performing project planning, program analysis, or project controls of which one (1) year must be in U.S. Government or DoD contracting environment.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Primavera P6 required.

Work Location:
  • Work location will be the Honolulu USACE District Office, approximately five days per week.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform desk work for extended periods, including sitting and using a computer.

  • Requires sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform related tasks.

Work Environment:
  • Primarily operates in a temperature-controlled office setting with frequent use of electronic office equipment.
  • May visit operational and construction sites, potentially encountering extreme temperatures, airborne particles, fumes, chemicals, or loud noises.
