Job description

Position: Compliance Manager

Location: Houston, TX

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $100,000.00+ DOE

Schedule: M-F Onsite 8-5pm

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).


Description: This role involves reviewing certified payrolls for DBRA compliance, managing compliance reporting, conducting site visits on a as needed basis, investigating and addressing compliance issues, and participating in external agency audits. The Manager will also perform quality control reviews, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for corrective actions and the development of new procedures.


Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze construction contracts to ensure proper application of DBRA regulations.
  • Verify contractor and subcontractor adherence to DBRA wage determinations, including correct wages, benefits, and reporting requirements.
  • Track and report on project labor standards, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Collect and review certified payrolls and other documentation from contractors and subcontractors.
  • Perform data entry and analysis to identify discrepancies and non-compliance with DBRA guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit reports on compliance status to senior management and relevant authorities.
  • Conduct routine audits of payrolls and supporting documents to ensure contractors’ compliance with wage and hour laws under DBRA.
  • Investigate potential violations of DBRA, including underpayment, misclassification of workers, and failure to comply with reporting requirements.
  • Work with legal teams to address findings of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Act as a liaison between contractors, subcontractors, project managers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth communication regarding compliance issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to contractors and project teams on DBRA regulations and compliance expectations.
  • Maintain professional relationships with government agencies, ensuring that all regulatory matters are handled efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance reviews, investigations, audits, and other DBRA-related activities.
  • Ensure that all records are accessible and in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of any necessary reports or documentation for government audits or legal inquiries.
  • Stay informed of changes in the DBRA, prevailing wage laws, and other related labor regulations
  • Implement changes to compliance processes as needed based on regulatory updates.
