Job Summary:
PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking a Data Scientist to identify business trends and solve problems through complex data analysis. The role involves interpreting results from multiple sources, designing and implementing business solutions, and preparing data for analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Identifies business trends and problems through complex big data analysis.
• Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently.
• Designs, develops and implements the most valuable business solutions for the organization.
• Prepares big data, implements data models and develops database to support the business solutions.
• Task #1: Data Analysis and Visualization Development
• Deliverables will be tailored to each project and may include:
• Rapid analysis scripts
• Visualization prototypes / models
• Interactive dashboards
• Visioning session materials
• Analysis reports and presentations
• Project plans and documentation
• The deliverable shall meet the following acceptance criteria in addition to compliance with the technical approach outlined below:
• Analysis techniques are appropriate for the given need and available data
• Project timelines are met within a reasonable variance due to uncertainty of the individual project
• Project documentation is accurate to the analysis findings and free of grammatical errors
• Products meet the Business Unit's needs and are usable by the Business Unit with minimal training
• Task #2: Modeling and Optimization
• Deliverables are project-dependent and may include:
• Mathematical optimization models
• Source code and/or scripting
• Translational documentation for use in analytical and visualization product development
• Proposal presentations
• Project result documentation and presentations
• The deliverable must meet the following acceptance criteria in addition to compliance with the technical approach outlined below:
• Model parameters and functions are appropriate for the given need and available data
• Project timelines are met within a reasonable variance due to uncertainty of the individual project
• Project documentation is accurate to the analysis findings and free of grammatical errors
• Products meet the Business Unit's needs and are usable by the Business Unit with minimal training
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 13 full years of experience with a degree.
• Minimum of 17 years of experience without a degree.
• Some academic criteria for data science – Ex. Data science, statistics, or experimental psych.
• Good communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in a variety of industries, indicating ability to be a quick study when confronted with the complex environment.
Preferred:
• A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred.
• Skilled in SQL, Python or R, preferably both.
