Data Analyst — Contract Location: Cary, NC — On-Site Employment Type: Contract 6 - 12 months Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour Schedule: Full-time, on-site Candidate Type: Direct candidates only — No third-party recruiters, agencies, or sponsored candidates Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst for an on-site contract-to-permanent opportunity in Cary, NC. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and data-management skills, experience translating business requirements into reporting solutions, and a solid understanding of relational data concepts and data modeling. This position will research, analyze, consolidate, and interpret data using statistical and data analytics methods to produce actionable information on business-relevant topics, including market environments, operational processes, and equipment performance. Key Responsibilities Research, analyze, consolidate, and interpret data using statistical and data analytics methods. Acquire data from primary and secondary sources and maintain databases and data systems. Operate and optimize predefined tools, applications, databases, and data-management systems. Create reports and communicate analytical results to management, customers, and other internal or external stakeholders. Manage the full lifecycle of analytics and dashboard deliverables, from requirements gathering through development, validation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance. Partner with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document reporting requirements in a consultative manner. Design and manage data models within Qlik, including understanding table relationships, join keys, table grain, and how data structure affects output accuracy. Identify and document data sources, joins, transformations, and the logic behind key calculations for each deliverable. Validate source-data quality and structure before development rather than assuming upstream data is ready for use. Maintain centralized documentation covering requirements, data lineage, business rules, access, and update history. Perform quality assurance to ensure report outputs align with documented requirements and business expectations. Provide proactive status updates on active projects and maintain a current view of the overall analytics portfolio. Collaborate with data engineers, process owners, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to resolve data-quality and delivery issues. Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional reporting solutions. Understanding of relational data concepts, including primary keys, foreign keys, table grain, and table relationships. Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot data-model integrity. Experience working with raw or semi-structured data sources, not solely pre-processed datasets. Experience with Qlik or similar business intelligence/data visualization platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong commitment to documentation accuracy and quality. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple business functions. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing and maintaining dashboards and analytical reporting solutions. Experience with data validation, data lineage, and quality assurance processes. Familiarity with SQL and querying relational databases. Experience working with data engineers, IT teams, Finance, and business process owners. Experience supporting analytics deliverables throughout their complete lifecycle. Work Arrangement This is an on-site position in Cary, North Carolina.
