Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspection and test of subassemblies, units and components to ensure conformance with quality standards. Perform inspections of return products. Requires interaction with engineering, sales, production, and external customers. May require travel to customer sites.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Make dimensional and mechanical inspection and test of Gear Reducers, subassemblies, components and units to ensure conformance with quality and engineering specifications.
  • Check parts using specific inspection procedures, direct reading instruments and test sets where allowable variations and limits are prescribed.
  • Inspect returns to determine root cause of problems. Interact with all departments and end customers to do so.
  • Offer training to all employees to improve quality and set processes.
  • Determine reasons for defects. Provide the reason code in RGA log.
  • Have sufficient mechanical skills and some knowledge in electrical motor to analyze failures and determine causes.
  • Able to work with engineering and assist them.
  • Have basic computer skills to be able to operate quality specific software tracking warranty data.
  • Have good interpersonal skills to be able to work with customers to support our products in the field.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly (5S standard).
  • Work in a safe manner and follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure personal safety as well as safety of co-workers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Requires thorough knowledge of gear reducer assembly, machining operations of parts, quality and engineering specifications.
  • Ability to perform to verbal instructions as well as read/write English, interpret/understand documents including but not limited to: specifications, routings, engineering drawing, test equipment/information, etc.
  • Ability to provide inspection with accuracy, which is critical to customer and business.
  • Knowledge/understanding of gauging techniques, blueprint reading/tolerance, and SPC sample plan.
  • Self-start and Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer (PC) skills
