About the Role
As a Federal Government Account Executive, you will be responsible for driving new business growth across an assigned portfolio of federal agencies. This is a pure hunter role focused on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities. Using a consultative sales approach, you will engage legal professionals, agency leadership, and procurement stakeholders to understand their priorities and demonstrate how LexisNexis solutions can help improve productivity, modernize legal research, and responsibly adopt AI. You will partner with internal teams throughout the sales process to deliver an exceptional customer experience while consistently achieving revenue objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to acquire new Federal Government customers.
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities within assigned federal agencies.
  • Build relationships with legal professionals, executive leadership, contracting officers, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Conduct consultative discovery, deliver compelling product demonstrations, and present solutions that address agency priorities.
  • Manage a healthy sales pipeline, maintain accurate forecasts, and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing, and other internal partners to drive successful customer outcomes.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of successful business development or enterprise sales experience, preferably selling into the Federal Government or other public sector organizations.
  • Demonstrated success acquiring new customers through strategic prospecting and consultative selling.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and executive decision makers.
  • Knowledge of Federal Government procurement processes is preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and territory management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree, equivalent professional experience or military experience
