Job description

Are you looking for limitless career opportunities with a company that values growth, innovation, and teamwork? At Ntiva, we’re more than a Managed Services Provider, we’re a community dedicated to helping each other, our clients, and their businesses thrive both personally and professionally. Ntiva is a culture of people who are passionate about the work…and each other.

Our clients view us as an essential part of their teams, relying on us for strategic guidance, fast solutions to complex challenges, and proactive support. With strategic locations across the U.S. and leadership from our founder, Steven Freidkin, we’re on the front lines of a fast-paced industry, facing cybersecurity threats and rapid technology changes together.

If you thrive in a dynamic, supportive environment and enjoy going above and beyond, we’d love to meet you. Come explore one of our many opportunities and grow with us!

How you’ll make an Impact

As the Senior Account Manager (SAM) for Ntiva’s GovCon practice, your main goal is to drive customer satisfaction and to retain and grow the revenue of your book of defense-contractor and government-contracting accounts. You are the trusted relationship owner, you understand each client’s business and where they are in their IT and compliance journey, you bring enough security and compliance fluency to know when to engage our vCISO and compliance teams, and you match clients to the right mix of managed IT, security, compliance, and advisory services.

Location and Work Expectations

  • This is a hybrid role (60% Client facing – 40% remote) requiring travel to client locations in the Chicagoland area. The specific allocation of remote versus onsite requirements may fluctuate based on business needs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insured vehicle.

What you will be doing

  • Serve as the trusted advisor and primary relationship owner for a large book of GovCon accounts, building durable, multi-level relationships across each client organization.
  • Manage no more than 25 named accounts totaling $2.5M – $4M in yearly recurring revenue, with individual accounts of more than $8K in monthly recurring revenue.
  • Hold in-person and remote meetings with clients to discuss strategy, budgets, and roadmaps to drive their IT forward.
  • Understand where each client sits in their CMMC / NIST 800-171 compliance journey at a business level, and use that understanding to shape account strategy and surface the right next services.
  • Recognize security- and compliance-driven needs and know when to bring in Ntiva’s vCISO and compliance teams to advise, scope, and deliver, you open the door and quarterback the relationship, and the specialists own the technical depth.
  • Identify and close opportunities to successfully achieve quarterly sales goals on a consistent basis.
  • Position and sell Ntiva’s GovCon portfolio, managed IT, security, compliance (CMMC readiness and ongoing assurance), and AI-managed services, matching solutions to each client’s maturity and goals.
  • Communicate new product and service offerings to clients.
  • Manage and execute agreement renewals, knowing whether clients have the right mix of services and assessing whether there are opportunities to add services.
  • Identify clients who are at risk and develop retention strategies.
  • On-board new clients while collaborating with the new business development team.
  • Work with the solution architect team to effectively scope client projects.
  • Share client feedback with relevant Ntiva teams and collaborate to ensure client expectations are being set and met accordingly.
  • Communicate Ntiva service, technology, and internal integration changes to clients on a regular basis.
  • Review client invoices monthly and work with the finance department on any changes needed.
  • Engage with clients who have 60+ day past-due balances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You’ll be successful in this role if you have experience in/with

  • 5–7 years of client-services / client-facing experience in the IT industry.
  • Experience supporting GovCon or defense-contractor clients.
  • A track record of retaining and growing a book of business through strong, trusted client relationships.
  • Superior people skills; client-service and relationship oriented.
  • Working familiarity with the frameworks that shape GovCon clients, CMMC, NIST 800-171, and DFARS, enough to hold credible client conversations, understand where a client is in their journey, and recognize a compliance-driven need. Deep, control-level expertise is not required; that lives with our vCISO and compliance teams.
  • Enough technical and solution literacy to position IT, security, and compliance offerings, translate client needs into the right services, and partner effectively with solution architects and technical teams. The technical knowledge here is in service of the sale and the relationship, not hands-on delivery.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to draft detailed, clear correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate across departments in order to obtain the information needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a tactful and professional demeanor.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills.
  • This role involves extended periods of sitting or standing and regular use of computers and office equipment.

Required language skills

  • Ability to communicate professionally, in English, both written and orally.
  • Ability to write business correspondence and process procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.

Bonus points for

  • Experience working for or with an IT Managed Service Provider (MSP).
  • CMMC Registered Practitioner (RP).
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience with the ConnectWise family of products or a similar service-management system.
  • Familiarity with technology, specifically network and system services.

Benefits and Perks

  • Medical, Dental and Vision coverage for employee and family.
  • 401k + company-matched contributions — 4% match on 5% contribution, no vesting period! (Employee and Company contribute after 90 days.)
  • Group Term Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage (company provided).
  • Short-Term (voluntary enrollment) and Long-Term Disability coverage (company provided).
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) Options / PPO Options.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) + Volunteer Time Off (VTO) + 8 Paid Holidays + 3 Floating Holidays.
  • Education Reimbursement Program.
  • Generous Employee Referral Program — cash bonus for successful referrals!
  • Dynamic Recognition and Rewards.
  • Clear Promotion and Advancement Tracks.
  • Work with Industry-Leading Talent.

The base pay range for this position is expected to be between $75,000 and $105,000 per year, plus a commission plan. The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, and PTO.
