Satcom Direct Government (SDG) is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Pre-Sales Engineer covering primarily the US region to join the team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between our sales and engineering teams, providing expert support and guidance throughout the sales process. You will leverage your technical knowledge to assist clients in understanding our products, addressing their needs, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience after purchase.
The successful candidate will display a high degree of professionalism, analytical engineering expertise, troubleshooting skills, with excellent communication skills.

How will you make a difference?
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer requirements and tailor solutions to meet their specific needs
  • Provide technical expertise during pre-sales presentations, product demonstrations, and RFP responses
  • Develop and deliver engaging product presentations and demos to prospective customers
  • Create detailed technical documentation, proposals, and solution architectures that align with client requirements
  • Address customer inquiries promptly, ensuring high levels of satisfaction
  • Work closely with the product development team to relay customer feedback and contribute to product improvements
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients to ensure successful implementation and utilization of our products
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product knowledge, and competitive landscape to effectively position our offerings and assist in developing new ones
  • Represent SDG at various regional events, trade shows and conferences

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Networking, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a presales or technical support role
  • 5+ years engineering experience in a related field (e.g. Military or Aero Systems)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the Americas as required, occasionally elsewhere globally in support of the global pre-Sales team
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance

Required Skills, Talents, & Experience
  • Prior hands-on experience with Military and/or Civil Aero SATCOM equipment and satellite networks is mandatory
  • Strong understanding of networking, software applications, and technical solutions within the military satellite communications (SATCOM) field is highly desirable
  • Prior experience with UAV and/or Airborne ISR communications systems is desirable
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Preferred Skills, Talents, & Experience
  • Experience in but not essential - Video compression, Linux administration
  • Prior experience of supporting global sales teams with technical expertise, including customer proposal writing, demos, presentations etc., is highly desirable
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to learn quickly and make effective decisions in a performance-based high energy work environment
  • Works independently and can prioritize under stressful situations
  • Can-do attitude and collaborative work style; flexibility

Equal Pay Disclosure(s)
Base Pay:
104,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
Bonus Plan at 10% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
