LOCATION: History Center - 345 W Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55102


COMPENSATION: Typical starting range $75,961.60 - $82,929.60 annually


STATUS & HOURS: Full-time, regular position (approximately 2,080 annual hours).

DESCRIPTION: This position exists to provide technical leadership on best practices and innovation to leverage Google Cloud products (GCP) and Google Workspace enterprise-wide services for MNHS.

The Google Services Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Google Workspace. This includes creation of and ongoing support for user roles/permissions, device management, troubleshooting, etc. This position will partner with our information technology teams, site-wide team members, as well as business unit users to support, grow, and mature the use of Google Workspace capabilities within the enterprise. This position will be the main point of contact for anything related to the administration and will act as a point of escalation for support issues.

This position is a primary enterprise system administrator responsible for MNHS’s Google Workspace domains that serve over 400 staff, volunteers, and interns.


SUMMARY OF WORK: 1) Lead and facilitate the enterprise-wide rollout of custom solutions integrating G Suite functionality and work productivity. 2) Collaborate with other technical and functional teams to document and support business rules and system operating procedures that pertain to the Google platform. 3) Serve as the main point of contact for anything related to the administration of Google, such as support issues and incidents. 4) Oversee email retention activities to comply with legal records retention policies. 5) Escalate support issues to Google Support (Google themselves), follow up, and resolve them promptly. 6) Administer and manage the publishing and revocation of applications and form extensions.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in the technology field.

  • Five years of experience working in a role providing technical support.

  • Three years of IT experience in Google Cloud solutions design with at least three (3) of the following services: Gmail, Google Groups, Data Migration, Security, Networking, Databases, and Management.

  • Completed professional development coursework through Google certification programs.

  • Hands-on experience and certificates on the product

  • Demonstrated ability to use appropriate tools to perform day-to-day administrative tasks, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service restoration.

  • Demonstrated constructive use of creativity and systems thinking.

  • Foundational understanding of security systems and applications.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years of IT experience in Google Cloud solutions design with at least six of the following services: Gmail, Google Groups, Data Migration, Security, Networking, Databases, and Management.

  • Three Google Certifications. Examples: Managing G Suite, G Suite Administrator Fundamentals, G Suite Mail Management, G Suite Security, and GCP Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure.

  • Experience in at least two scripting or programming languages (such as JavaScript, Bash, Python, etc).

  • Google Cloud Professional Collaboration Engineer certification or obtained within 90 days after hiring.
