Job description

Foster Logistics is looking to hire a full-time Customer Service Representative for the Tipp City operation. The basic functions of the Customer Service Representative (CSR) are data entry, answering telephone calls, problem solving, contact with warehouse team, achieving and maintaining rapport with customers and working to provide the best possible service. This position is responsible for the timely scheduling of loads to be received and shipped while maintaining good records via the customer, and the applicable systems (WMS and/or TMS).
Job Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Reviews daily inbound and outbound schedules and, in discussion with other warehouse team members, plans and prioritizes daily work schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Alerts team members to any special loading configuration or customer delivery requirements.
  • Enters data accurately and timely into company and customer systems.
  • Monitors warehouse transactions and related paperwork for accuracy and reports any discrepancies, procedural concerns, or operational issues to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Assists with cycle counts as needed.
  • Notifies the Warehouse Manager of any problems with equipment, the building, or any suspicious activities.
  • Ensures that the inside and outside areas of the warehouse are kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Takes necessary steps to prevent theft in the warehouse. Secures all doors and docks (where applicable) at the close of business. Questions any unauthorized personnel in the building.
  • May provide mentoring on Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensures all data for the day’s activity are entered into the systems prior to leaving for the day.
  • Maintains and completes all daily / month-end reporting requirements.
  • Informs Warehouse Manager of any office or shop supplies needed.
  • Maintains filing systems.
  • Ensures daily check sheets are being completed on a consistent basis.
  • Maintains excellent communication with customers to ensure their needs are being exceeded.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Required Experience and Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of shipping and warehouse procedures. At least two years’ experience in the warehousing industry.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow all procedures relating to shipping and receiving forms.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Must be team oriented.
  • Able to interact professionally, respectfully, and courteously within the company and with customers.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
  • Must have a good knowledge of arithmetic functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable.
