Job description

540 is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support our partnership with Google and the Department of War in advancing mission-critical capabilities for a global data processing platform. This platform leverages Machine Learning, modern cloud and containerized technologies to ingest, process, and analyze high-volume, time-series data.

In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and platform services that enable reliable and compliant system delivery. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and cybersecurity stakeholders to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle and ensure systems are scalable, resilient, and secure within highly regulated, high-impact environments.

Location: Patrick Space Force Base, FL. Primarily onsite, up to 5 days/week. Travel up to 25%
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: Per client requirements, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an active DoW clearance with TS/SCI eligibility
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field (preferred)

HOW YOU'LL DRIVE IMPACT

  • Design, build, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines supporting cloud-native applications and services
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources
  • Integrate security controls and best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps)
  • Support deployment and operation of containerized workloads and cloud-native data pipelines
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to implement scalable, secure, and resilient system designs
  • Automate build, test, and deployment workflows across multiple environments
  • Support vulnerability management, remediation, and secure configuration practices
  • Implement and maintain cloud security controls, identity management, and access policies
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and security posture across environments
  • Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, and system configurations
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery aligns with mission needs and compliance requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps engineering roles
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
  • Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar tools)
  • Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Helm)
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure software development practices
  • Experience with cloud networking, identity, and access management concepts
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management and secure configuration practices
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Bash, Go, etc.)
  • Experience working with Linux-based systems
  • Experience with cloud networking, multi-region deployments
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • CompTIA Security+ certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

NICE TO HAVE
