A Counter Sales Associate will partner with our customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies. You will serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on the tools, hardware, and materials needed to successfully complete their projects. By demonstrating equipment use and sharing insights on product quality, you help our customers pioneer new solutions in their own work.

  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a secure environment for everyone.

  • Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external partners, fostering understanding and long-term relationships.

  • Ensures all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.

  • Partners with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks; demonstrates equipment use to build customer confidence.

  • Manages order entry and processes transactions; assists the team with the reconciliation of deposits.

  • Coordinates via phone, e-mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery.

  • Contributes to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch.

  • Coordinates the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.

  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues.

  • Stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience.

  • Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2-5 years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (we also value an equivalent combination of education and unique life experience).

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are strict requirements for this role

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast paced setting.

  • Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus.

  • Attention to detail in handling transactions.

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and move up to 150 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.

  • Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support.

  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A background in gas, welding, or safety supplies is a wonderful asset.

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Google, or MS Office Applications and SAP is a plus.
