Technical Program Manager - Data Engineering


Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) with a strong Data Engineering background and proven experience driving large-scale consulting, client delivery, and data transformation programs. The ideal candidate will combine technical depth in modern data platforms with strong stakeholder management, program governance, and execution capabilities.

This role requires partnering with business stakeholders, architects, engineering teams, and clients to deliver scalable data solutions while ensuring timelines, quality, and business outcomes are achieved.


Key Responsibilities

Program & Delivery Management

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise data engineering and analytics programs.
  • Drive project planning, execution, risk management, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communications.
  • Manage cross-functional teams including Data Engineers, Architects, Analysts, QA, and Business Stakeholders.
  • Own delivery governance, status reporting, budget tracking, and executive-level updates.
  • Establish project roadmaps and ensure successful execution against agreed milestones.
  • Coordinate across multiple workstreams to deliver complex data transformation initiatives.


Client & Consulting Engagement

  • Engage with clients and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for data modernization, migration, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
  • Lead workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and solution discussions.
  • Manage customer expectations and drive successful business outcomes.
  • Support pre-sales, effort estimations, solution reviews, and proposal development when needed.

Data Engineering Leadership

  • Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to define data platform strategy and implementation roadmaps.
  • Ensure adoption of best practices in data architecture, ETL/ELT development, data quality, governance, and performance optimization.
  • Drive modernization initiatives involving cloud data platforms and advanced analytics ecosystems.
  • Review technical designs and provide guidance on scalable and resilient data solutions.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 8+ years of overall IT experience with at least:
  • 4+ years in Data Engineering/Data Platform projects.
  • 3+ years in Program Management, Technical Project Management, or Delivery Management roles.
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, ETL/ELT, Data Governance, and Analytics solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale client-facing delivery programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working in Agile and hybrid delivery models.
