Job description

Know where you belong!
Match Group is a leading provider of dating products across the globe. Our portfolio includes Tinder, Hinge, Match, Meetic, PlentyOfFish, OkCupid, The League, HER, and others, each designed to spark meaningful connections for singles worldwide. Creating a sense of belonging doesn't stop at our products - it's the foundation of every team we hire.

When it comes to dating, the connection starts online, but the real magic happens once you meet in real life (IRL).  We think the same is true for creating the best platforms, so we work together IRL 3 days/week.

We're looking for a Privacy Analyst based in New York to join our global Privacy Team.

This role is focused on privacy-by-design: partnering closely with product, engineering, trust & safety, and Legal stakeholders to help embed privacy into the development of some of the world's most recognized consumer dating apps, with a particular focus on Hinge.

You'll play an ownership role in triaging, tracking, conducting, and documenting complex privacy reviews, including privacy-by-design reviews (PbDs), data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and legitimate interest assessments (LIAs) - all helping to ensure that innovative features and initiatives are developed responsibly and in compliance with global privacy laws.

Drawing on your privacy knowledge, you'll help translate complex regulatory requirements- including GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, and emerging global requirements related to privacy, cybersecurity, and AI-into clear, practical guidance for cross-functional teams.

You'll also have the autonomy to develop and improve playbooks and processes to maximize efficiency without sacrificing quality.

How you'll make an impact:
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and legal colleagues to coordinate reviews of new products, features, and data uses to identify and flag risks early in the development lifecycle.

  • Conduct and document privacy assessments as required under global privacy laws.

  • Build or improve scalable processes, templates, and tools that support efficient and consistent intake, coordination, and review.

  • Help translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical, product-focused guidance.

  • Stay current on global privacy developments and help apply new requirements to existing features and workflows.

  • Support the implementation of Match Group's global privacy program and contribute to portfolio-wide privacy governance initiatives.

  • Support audits and assessments of privacy practices in collaboration with cross-functional partners.

We may be a Match if you:
  • Have a background in privacy, law, public policy, or a related field
  • Have experience supporting PIAs, DPIAs, LIAs, and/or product privacy reviews
  • Enjoy identifying areas that could benefit from greater efficiency or clarity, and developing or improving processes to do so.
  • Understand how digital products work (e.g., data flows, APIs, SDKs, AI/ML use cases)
  • Are comfortable working closely with technical and product teams
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Are an effective communicator who can help translate legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can manage multiple priorities
  • Are a self-starter who takes initiative in moving privacy reviews forward, exercising sound judgment on when to seek guidance and escalate issues
  • Are digitally literate, preferably with proficiency in Google Workspace
  • Are comfortable with and interested in applying AI tools in your everyday work, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Zoom AI Companion, to automate repetitive tasks and improve output quality - such as in drafting documents, generating structured outputs, and improving workflows
  • Are committed to continuous learning and development
What's the team like?
  • On this close-knit global team, you will have the opportunity to work both collaboratively and independently on exciting privacy challenges.
  • Individuals on this team manage multiple projects simultaneously, are autonomous and self-motivated team players with a keen interest in privacy, possess superior communication skills, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, and have excellent project management skills.
  • A successful Privacy Analyst will be trusted to approach their work methodically, managing multiple demands while aiming for continuous improvement.
$120,000 - $140,000 a year
Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
This salary range is reflective of New York, NY. For all other locations, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.

Our Values
  • Take the Lead: We don't ghost our work or each other. Just as users don't leave their matches hanging, we don't let each other down.
  • Move Fast: We have a bias for action and urgency. Something that could be done tomorrow would be better if done today.
  • Better Together: We keep connection at the heart of dating and at the heart of how we work. Just as our users are better when they connect with others, so are we when we collaborate.
  • Real Talk: We say the hard thing the human way. Just as we ask our users to behave with kindness and candor in our community, we expect all of us to do the same.
  • Safety First: We act with integrity, transparency, and consistency so people feel safe-whether they're swiping, matching, or working alongside us.
  • Spark Fun: We have fun to unlock creativity, fuel innovation, and help us build better experiences for daters.
