International Government Affairs Manager, Government Affairs and Public Policy

Location: Washington D.C., DC, USA

About the job

As a member of Google's Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you’ll work across regions, product areas, and functions to manage campaigns, projects, and initiatives. You’ll advocate for Google and help shape how we use and build technology for everyone. The International Government Affairs (IGA) team builds relationships with foreign policy leaders, supports business development opportunities, and resolves global policy issues. The team works with Washington‑based stakeholders and international bodies such as the United Nations and the OECD to advance global tech policy.

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7years of experience working in the AsiaPacific and LatinAmerica within government, private sector, think tanks or relevant industry associations.
  • Experience identifying geopolitical risks and developing mitigation strategies to protect business interests.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience working with legal departments and other teams to assess and respond to regulatory inquiries and government investigations.
  • Experience collaborating with international teams and a variety of stakeholders to execute strategies that deliver exceptional solutions.
  • Knowledge of public policy, processes, institutions, and technology policy issues.
  • Ability to proactively prioritize and multi‑task seamlessly.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, verbal and written communication skills, and high attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with Google’s local leads in the AsiaPacific and LatinAmerica to identify and execute opportunities in WashingtonDC that support local government policy and business priorities.
  • Advise regional policy leads, product leads, and cross‑functional partners on public policy and engagement strategies for DC‑based campaigns, including geopolitical risks related to business decisions tied to AsiaPacific and LatinAmerica countries.
  • Serve as a thought partner and advisor for executive leadership in business‑development initiatives and programs that align with Google’s positions on geopolitical risk.
  • Manage Google’s participation in major bilateral and regional summits, designing programs and driving impact from executive engagement.
  • Liaise directly with regional Google Cloud colleagues to advance and unlock Cloud priorities in the aforementioned countries.
Compensation

The U.S. base salary range for this full‑time position is $138,000‑$202,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
