Job description

Job Description Plant Manager Job Overview: As the Plant Manager, you will play a critical role in providing technical and supervisory leadership to the staff at the manufacturing facility. Your responsibilities will include overseeing various aspects of production, ensuring product quality, and championing safety initiatives. Responsibilities: Leadership and Coordination: Direct and coordinate activities of the staff.

Provide leadership for shop supervisors, design engineering, material procurement, product engineering, quality assurance, plant safety, product cost, and product service. Maintain flexibility and a focus on customer satisfaction. Identify problems and implement solutions related to quality, schedule, safety, changing customer requirements, and cost improvements.

Measure and report results to track and enhance operational performance. Actively lead and champion plant safety and chemical management. Focus on achieving NC Star status for plant operations and OHSAS 18001 certification for the product.

Provide input to senior management for the development of a plant-operating budget. Plan, lead, document, and implement continuous improvement projects to reduce costs. Perform various personnel actions, including hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and vacation schedules.

Education and Experience: Four-year business management degree in organizational management or a related field; mechanical engineering degree and/or MBA degree are a plus. 10 years of manufacturing leadership as a plant manager is required. Extensive experience in manufacturing management at the plant level will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Job Requirements/Special Skills: Commitment to safety, quality, cost savings, and continuous improvement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of applicable product design and marketability differentiation. Knowledge of manufacturing processes; DFM, JIT, or Flow manufacturing is a plus. Proficiency in personal computer skills (Microsoft Office/ Google Suite).

Interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate projects involving multiple people. Knowledge of plant safety and HAZMAT requirements.
