Title SUMMER SCHOOL Summer School Recruitment & Outreach Specialist (INTERNAL) Open until filled, one position available
This position is open to certified and classified staff.
Description:
The Recruitment & Outreach Specialist is a supplemental, stipend-based position designed to bridge the gap between summer school programs and families. Your primary mission is to drive student enrollment by ensuring every family is informed, engaged, and supported through the registration process. Using provided scripts and resources, you will be the "boots on the ground" voice for our summer school program. This position is open to classified and certified staff.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Direct Family Outreach: Conduct personalized outreach to families via phone calls, emails, and face-to-face interactions to explain program benefits and details.
  • Enrollment Management: Utilize provided forms and digital tools to track student sign-ups and ensure all registration data is accurate and complete.
  • Information Distribution: Serve as a subject matter expert on program specifics, deadlines, and requirements, utilizing the scripts and FAQs provided.
  • Attendance Support & Retention: Conduct daily or weekly "wellness checks" and follow-up calls for students with unexcused absences. Work directly with families to resolve attendance barriers (e.g., transportation issues or scheduling updates) to ensure students remain active in the program.
  • Barrier Identification: Work with families to troubleshoot issues that might prevent initial enrollment or continued attendance.
  • Reporting: Maintain regular communication and documentation with program Administrators regarding outreach progress. Complete reporting documents to maintain grant compliance.

Qualifications
  • Three years of school experience preferred
  • Multilingual applicants preferred, but not required
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to equitable and inclusive practices for all students
  • Employment Status: Open to all current Certified and Classified staff members.
  • A strong rapport with the school community and the ability to build trust quickly with parents and guardians.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets & Google Doc), and knowledge of Synergy to track outreach and attendance efforts.
  • High level of accountability for completing outreach calls and follow-ups within the designated windows.

Terms of Employment:
  • Work Window: Recruitment and attendance support typically take place between May and mid to late July.
  • Hours: Work is performed strictly outside of the contracted school day. Total hours not to exceed 30 hours for the duration of the program.
  • Compensation: A stipend of $1000, payable upon completion of the summer program requirements.
