What is a Google Freelancer?

A Google Freelancer is an independent professional who offers services related to Google’s platforms and products, such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Workspace, SEO, and more. They typically work on a contract or project basis for clients who need expertise in optimizing and managing Google tools. Google Freelancers may handle tasks like running ad campaigns, setting up analytics, or improving a website’s search ranking. They are not employees of Google but use their skills to help businesses leverage Google’s technologies for growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Google Freelancer?

To thrive as a Google Freelancer, you need expertise in your chosen field (such as digital marketing, software development, or content creation) and a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant experience. Familiarity with Google tools like Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Workspace, or certification programs (e.g., Google Certified Professional) is highly beneficial. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and time management are crucial soft skills for working independently and collaborating remotely with clients. These skills and qualifications enable freelancers to deliver quality work, maintain client relationships, and stay competitive in the dynamic digital marketplace.

How do Google Freelancers typically collaborate with in-house teams and manage communication?

Google Freelancers often work remotely but are integrated into project teams through structured communication tools like Google Workspace, Slack, or video calls. Regular check-ins, agile meetings, and clear documentation help ensure alignment with in-house staff. Freelancers are expected to be proactive in updates and responsive to feedback, which fosters a collaborative environment despite geographical distance. Building trust and maintaining transparency are key to successful collaboration in this dynamic setup.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Freelance Payment Tester - Apple Pay & Google Pay based in Netherlands.

Join a flexible, remote testing project focused on validating real-world digital payment experiences.
You'll help assess whether subscription payments work smoothly and reliably for users in different markets.
The role involves completing a real payment transaction using either Apple Pay or Google Pay and reporting your experience.
You'll work independently from your own computer, following clear instructions provided before each testing session.
Each session takes approximately one hour, with opportunities offered on an ad hoc basis.
No professional software testing experience is required, making this a practical opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to digital product testing.
Approved costs associated with the testing task will be covered, so you can participate with confidence.

Accountabilities
  • Complete assigned payment-testing sessions remotely using your own computer and the required Apple Pay or Google Pay setup.
  • Follow the provided testing instructions carefully and complete a subscription purchase as part of the test.
  • Assess the payment journey from a real user's perspective, identifying whether the transaction process works as expected.
  • Provide clear and accurate feedback on the payment experience after completing each testing session.
  • Report any issues, unexpected behavior, or difficulties encountered during the payment process.
  • Participate in future testing opportunities on an ad hoc basis when available and when your device and payment setup meet the project requirements.
  • Ensure that testing activities are completed accurately and within the expected timeframe.
Requirements:
  • Currently live in the Netherlands.
  • Have either a Mac computer with Safari and Apple Pay set up or a Windows PC with Google Pay set up.
  • Be comfortable completing a real subscription payment as part of a testing assignment.
  • Have access to a reliable computer and internet connection for remote testing.
  • Be available for approximately 1 hour per testing session.
  • Be able to follow written instructions carefully and provide clear, practical feedback.
  • Have good attention to detail and the ability to identify issues from a user's perspective.
  • Be reliable, responsive, and comfortable working independently.
  • No professional software testing experience is required.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote freelance opportunity.
  • Flexible, ad hoc testing sessions with potential for multiple future opportunities.
  • Approximately 1 hour per testing session, allowing you to participate alongside other commitments.
  • Paid participation in approved testing assignments.
  • Approved costs incurred as part of the testing task are covered.
  • Gain practical experience evaluating real-world digital payment experiences.
  • Clear instructions provided before each testing assignment.
  • Work independently using your own computer and existing payment setup.
