Pay rate   $20.35 /hour, work-study required.

Schedule  10 hours per week, flexible schedule

Location Hybrid schedule, splitting time working on-campus at Alumni House and working remotely. Remote work must be performed in California.

Job Overview: Join our dynamic team at Cal Alumni Association—UC Berkeley (CAA) as a Student Assistant, where you'll contribute to the management of alumni engagement data. This role is perfect for students passionate about data and data science and looking to gain hands-on experience in a vibrant educational setting.

This position reports to the Senior Data Analyst, Marketing and Communications Department 

Responsibilities:

With supervision and guidance from the Marketing and Communications Data team, the student assistant will:

  • Clean and standardize incoming alumni engagement data 
  • Process and upload alumni data according to CAA processes
  • Participate in weekly check-ins and assist with various tasks as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program (e.g., Data Science, Statistics)
  • Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace 
  • Optional experience or interest in learning Google Apps Script 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must complete campus-required data privacy and security training
  • Must respect federal, state, and campus data privacy and security laws and procedures
