Position Description Summary/Purpose:
Goodwin University's Welcome Center is looking for a Full-time Welcome Center Specialist to join our team. As a Welcome Center Specialist, you are the first point of contact and will greet, direct and advise guests visiting the University.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage Welcome Center front desk area
  • Answer all incoming calls and transfer to proper department
  • Greet and direct guests and visitors to appropriate department
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintain supplies inventory
  • Organize and confirm online room inquiries
  • Distribute and track parking registration for students, staff and faculty
  • Conduct all work in a safe manner and follow all work safety practices
  • Work some evening and weekend hours as needed
  • Walk students and visitors to appropriate departments if necessary
  • Perform administrative Welcome Center tasks
  • Work closely with security team.
Other Functions:
  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation permits
  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends
  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
  • Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to utilize a multi-line phone system
