Job description

General Summary:
Manages daily operations of their assigned Store to meet established revenue and margin objectives. Contributing to the DGR purpose, generating funds to help people in our community to live, work and thrive through housing, employment and supportive services.
Supervisory responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains direct reports.
  • Leads the daily workflow of their department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Develops staff to increase internal talent pool and promote staff retention.
  • Administer the discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the service, product levels and safety of the operation within budgeted expense to advance the Goodwill mission and brand.
  • Monitors proper cash controls and asset protection guidelines within the operation, ensuring employee adherence to policies and procedure.
  • Leads internal and external customer service standards, to ensure best in class service from all members of the team.
  • Manages staff productivity, balancing service with the continuous flow of new quality merchandise for a fresh and full sales floor.
  • Manages employee work schedules to meet business demands.
  • Determines production set up and material handling to efficiently produce merchandise to generate quality and quantity of product to meet projected sales objectives.
  • Maximizes donation value by effectively processing products to generate sales in stores, online or through aftermarkets.
  • Maintains knowledge of latest industry standards and best practices relating to processes, equipment, and customer service. Willingly share knowledge with staff.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to proactively build the team.
  • Guides management staff to work together to cultivate a collaborative team environment through motivation, training, and coaching.
  • Utilizes coaching and documentation to strengthen positive performance or address performance issues.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in written and verbal form with all internal and external audiences.
  • Ensures a safe work environment, audits and trains employees on workplace safety and loss prevention policies and procedures, providing solutions for compliance.
  • Analyzes report data and other documentation proposing tactical plans to Regional Manager as a concerted effort in process improvement.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and provide tactical solutions to reach positive results.
  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Knowledge of retail operations in a fast-paced environment and ability to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills to interact with employees and the public.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Independently makes decisions that positively impact store goals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software.

Travel Required: Travel up to 10%.
Required education and/or work experience:
  • 4+ years of progressively responsible retail management experience.
  • High school diploma, post-secondary courses or degree preferred.

Salary Description
$65,000-$70,000/annually plus Incentives
