What You'll Do

As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll help lead the daily operations of a Goodwill retail store and donation center. You'll support the Store Manager in creating a positive, productive environment for both customers and employees. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead store activities to ensure strong sales and production performance
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new team members
  • Train and develop staff in alignment with company standards
  • Review and verify daily sales reports, deposits, and financial procedures
  • Coordinate product flow and shipments to ensure inventory meets sales goals
  • Open and close the store, manage deposits, and secure the building
  • Provide excellent customer and donor service, including resolving complaints
  • Supervise the processing of donated goods to ensure quality and sales readiness
  • Organize and rotate merchandise by category and color
  • Encourage team motivation through communication and performance feedback
  • Report maintenance needs and safety concerns to store leadership
  • Act as Store Manager in their absence

What We're Looking For

A natural leader with strong organizational skills and a passion for retail operations and team development. You're customer-focused, hands-on, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of retail management experience (or equivalent education/experience)
  • This job keeps you engaged and active! Most of the time, you'll be talking, listening, standing, or walking. You'll frequently use your hands, reach, push, and pull. Occasionally, you may sit, kneel, stoop, throw, or twist. Regularly lifting up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifts up to 50 pounds, is required. Strong close, color, and depth vision are essential. Some local travel is involved.
