Job description

Retail Store Manager

Oversee operation of retail store within policies and procedures established by Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia (GIMG). Responsible for management of the collection/processing/retail facility.

  • Demonstrate core values of Goodwill Industries by modeling service, ownership, accountability and respect.
  • Responsible for the efficient operation of retail store, auditing procedures, bank deposits, and cash control; merchandising, staff supervision, training and evaluating; security and safety of company employees and property. To achieve established goals for sales, payroll, safety and expense control.
  • Supervise personnel to insure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  • Oversee and assist with acceptance, sorting, processing and merchandising donated goods.
  • Assure sales and production employees use correct processing and sales procedures and methods.
  • Handle customer complaints and forward unresolved complaints to customer service team.
  • Complete payroll tracking to reconcile labor hours by location(s)assigned in each pay period.
  • Ensure stores meet all standards outlines in the monthly inspection and bonus qualification form.
  • Management experience in a retail/warehouse environment.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Knowledge of retail floor merchandising and warehousing procedures.
  • Computer skills.

College degree preferred.

Potential for contact with employees from all areas of organization.

Works in the community and in retail store environment.

  • High level of stamina and ability spend long hours standing.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds on a regular basis.
