Mission Contribution

Provides administrative assistance to Alabama Goodwill Industries Talent and Culture Department with a focus on benefits administration, recruiting and onboarding, risk management, and learning and development while supporting AGI's mission of transforming lives through the power of work.

Summary

Responsible for the coordination and facilitation of essential HR reports related to payroll, benefits and compensation, and training sessions, maintenance of employee records, and onboarding of new hires.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Talent & Culture Department and duties.
  • Perform general clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and handling correspondence.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job ads, scheduling interviews, and coordinating communication with candidates.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing onboarding materials, conducting orientations, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Generate reports and presentations for internal communications.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Other duties assigned by Team Leader.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn independently in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Familiarity with database systems, ATS applications, HRIS and HRMS preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws preferred.

Training and Experience

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role required.
  • 2-3 years of experience and an associate or bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a similar discipline, is preferred.

Work Environment and Conditions

  • Physical Requirements: Normal office environment, ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work overtime when projects demand.

Other Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time.
