Job description

The Computer Works Team Lead oversees the daily testing, refurbishment, building, cleaning, and secure data wiping of donated computers and electronic devices to prepare products for online resale and listing. This role is responsible for supervising workflow, production output, quality control, and team performance to ensure items are accurately processed, evaluated, data-wiped, and prepared in accordance with operational, quality, and compliance standards prior to resale.


This position is responsible for driving department productivity, revenue growth, and daily performance while coaching and developing team members, monitoring operational metrics, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and workflow. The Team Lead maintains high standards for quality, accuracy, inventory control, and customer experience while fostering a productive, mission-driven environment that supports training and employment opportunities within the Computer Works department.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the assigned work schedule and punctuality are an essential function of the job.
  • Lead and support daily operations within the Computer Works department.
  • Drive department productivity, revenue performance, and operational goals.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Monitor workflow and production output to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Oversee the testing, refurbishment, data wiping, and preparation of donated electronics and computer equipment for online resale.
  • Ensure all devices are securely wiped of personal data prior to resale in accordance with company standards and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory processing and product flow throughout the department.
  • Support quality control processes to ensure products meet online resale standards.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and workflow efficiencies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Partner with leadership to support departmental goals, training initiatives, and mission impact.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position is responsible for the activities of the Computer Works team members in the absence of the eCommerce Manager and the eCommerce Assistant Manager
  • Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Skilled with Windows PC and operating systems, Microsoft Excel, and the Internet.
  • Experienced in customer-focused sales and support environments.
  • Must be able to multitask and work both rapidly and efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to understand and follow directions well.
  • Ability to stand for eight hours.
  • Ability to bend and twist.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to figure percentages and perform simple math computations.
  • Sufficient eyesight and manual dexterity to differentiate between and classify items.
  • Must be able to multitask to meet daily production quotas.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and twist for eight hours.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
