Job Title: Computer Works Dock Worker 1
Department: Computer Works (CW)
Reports to: CW Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:
Responsible for processing goods and keeping equipment emptied for transportation flow according to GWH policy and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective operation and stewardship of the outlet store and donation center to maximize profitability for mission services funding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates GWH's Core Values in all actions.
• Ensures adherence to Guiding Principles and CARF standards.
• Ensures alignment and consistency of all aspects of the CW store operations.
• Processes donated goods efficiently and effectively based on GWH's needs and adapts to changes in commodities processing as assigned.
• Bales merchandise, identify and demonstrate understanding of items that can be baled together or items that cannot be baled but should be processed separately.
• Assist with quality control assurance.
• As assigned, sort and process merchandise with a sense of urgency.
• Assist in efficient movement of goods on the dock or production areas, and when loading and unloading trucks with the aid of material handling equipment as needed.
• Sorts products into appropriate salvage, recycling, and trash based on current commodity expectations.
• Operates assigned material handling equipment in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and GWH safety policies and procedures.
• Maintains processing area in a neat and clean condition.
• Use safe work procedures and personal protective equipment as required (i.e., lifting, use of proper equipment, etc.) and reports incidents and injuries immediately to a supervisor.
• Follows the identified compliance standards and GWH guidelines for processing different commodities.
• Report equipment, machinery, and other GWH property repairs and/or maintenance to a manager in a timely manner.
• Completes required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Establishes and maintains a cooperative, functional work relationship with all Team Members.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to multi-task, make quick decisions and work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Must have punctual and dependable attendance.
• Free from alcohol and drugs.
Key Performance Indicators:
1. Ensure proper sorting of goods & salvage products.
2. Proper breakdown of PC equipment.
3. Ensure proper and safe loading and stacking of products.
4. Ensure correct labeling of salvage product.
5. Maximize profit by maximizing salvage revenue with outgoing product.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
The ability to continuously stand/walk for the duration of a shift, frequently push/pull, occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/kneel/reach above shoulders and climb a ladder. Able to lift, up to, 40 lbs. (fixture parts, cartons of product).
An indoor work environment with exposure to outside temperatures. The noise level in the normal work environment is, usually, moderate.
