Medical Assistant

Goodman Group Skin, Laser, Hair | Bethesda, MD

Goodman Group Skin, Laser, Hair is seeking a motivated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our established and highly respected cosmetic and dermatology practice serving the Bethesda and Washington, DC area. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional patient care by providing both clinical and administrative support to our providers in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and documenting medical histories.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and maintain medical equipment.
  • Perform basic laboratory testing and prepare specimens for analysis.
  • Follow up on diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and patient care needs.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans and skincare recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient records.
  • Facilitate patient transitions between healthcare settings, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical team members.

Administrative Support

  • Manage clinical inbox tasks and ensure completion by the end of each business day.
  • Answer patient phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment.
  • Support clinic initiatives and community engagement activities as directed.
  • Assist with clinic social media efforts by gathering content and sharing approved updates when needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA, AAMA, RMA, or equivalent).
  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems and HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
  • Prior experience in dermatology, aesthetics, cosmetic medicine, or plastic surgery.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $23-$25 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
